Levels of Experiential Play Therapy

photo_2LoginThe term “Experiential Play Therapy (EPT)”™ is a copyright of Drs. Carol and Byron Norton, the founders of the Experiential model of play therapy.  This model is a specific approach to the play therapy treatment of children.  Professionals who have developed skills in this particular model of play therapy have established an identity that distinguishes their special training.  Because of their dedicated pursuit of training and commitment to these concepts, these professionals should be validated with recognition of their standard of competency with an acknowledged level of proficiency and expertise.  Therefore, the professional play therapist who attains and continues to maintain the standards set forth by the endorsing committee has the right to use the term “Experiential Play Therapy”™ and to be identified with this model.
